Repentance Requires Action

Revelation 2:5

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and

**do the first works** or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

I once read somewhere that if something is worth doing right the 1st time, you should create a habit of doing it right every time..

When you find yourself “away” from God

You should not look for a new and improved  way to return!

The 1st Works Got You There and They Are Sure to Get You Back There…

You will not “Grow” back, but you must “Go” Back! This requires Action and Moving from Where You Are to Where You Left…

Start “Doing”-

⁃ Repent

⁃ Pray

⁃ Fast

⁃ Witness

It Worked in the Beginning and It Will Work Again, even though it is a simple formula…

Asking Not Wishing

Jeremiah 6:16

16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and *ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Asking is putting legs on a wish…

To Wish is Thoughtful and Hopeful Only.

Whereas “Asking” is Making a Wish Become Probable, by Making the Request!

“You have not because you ask not”

⁃ Better Jobs

⁃ New cars

⁃ New Homes

⁃ New Spouse

NO NO and NO…

OR

Old Path Requests-

⁃ Holy Ghost Power

⁃ New Souls

⁃ Home Bible Studies

⁃ More Church

⁃ More Preaching

⁃ Save Your Family

⁃ Save Your Friends

YES YES and YES!!!

Stop Wishing and Start Asking!

Bombard heaven With Prayers…

The Result According to the Scripture-

Anger Has Been the Cause of Many Deaths and Much Destruction…

Anger is a Reaction…

You Cannot Always Choose “What” Angers You” But, You Can Choose “How”

You Will Respond to “What” Happens to You…

Discretion is Exchanging an Emotion for Wisdom…

It Is Considering 1st, Reacting 2nd.

It is Better said as “Act” not “React”

There is a Major Difference…

Your “Glory” is the ability to choose instead of respond…This is an Attribute to be Desired and Sought After!

Helping But Not Helping

Proverbs 19:19

19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

Helping Someone is an Act of Mercy.

Yet Help Should Never Cross the Line to “Empowerment”

Empowerment Comes When Time and Again “Consequences” are Taken Care Of!

An Act of Mercy is One Thing

But Mercy is No Longer Mercy

When it Just Eliminates the Consequences to Bad Behavior!

It Becomes “Empowerment”

There Are and Ought to Be “Consequences”

for Poor Choices and Bad Behavior

Or We Never Truly Learn from Our Mistakes…

Helping is Not always Helping…

Revealing Who You Really Are

1 Samuel 24:12

12 The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me of thee: *but mine hand shall not be upon thee.

Someone once said-

“Personality is who we are in front of people and Character is who we are when we are alone”

True- but I’d like to add a caveat to that please…

*Who You Really Are is Often Revealed When You’re in Power or have Authority without probable Censure…

Situations and Temptations Do Not Define You, Rather They Reveal You!

When David was Afforded the Chance to Destroy His Enemy along with Encouragement of Others-

He Chose Character and Integrity…

He said “it won’t happen by my hand”

Too Many Get Caught Up in What They Think is the Work of God, Grinding the Assailants and Guilty to a Pulp…

When they would better off leaving Justice and Judgement to God!

In Biblical History- most that were called on by God to punish Israel because of their sin, later found themselves the object of God’s wrath…

Moral of the Story-

When God Needs an Executioner… Don’t Volunteer!

Binary Relationships

Proverbs 19:6

6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

Relationships Built on “Status” and “Gifts”

Are Shallow and Capricious-(never stable always changing)

*The Binary Duo-

#1-Many (the crowds) intreat or (make great effort)

to get the Favor of “Important” People…

#2-A “Gift Giver” always has friends…

As I look back at 64 years of age, the most important relationships did not come from-

The “Binary-Duo”

But rather, from some not so “Important People” and

People who had no “Gift Giving” ability.

These, not so notable and financially poor folk, literally shaped and nurtured my life beyond those who had “Prince” status and Gifts to give.

PS. Don’t get caught in the shallow water relationships, they’re Here Today and Gone Tomorrow…

God Doesn’t Make Trash

Psalms 139:14

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

You Have purpose and reason for “Being”

The devil wants to discourage you and destroy you!

What better way then to brainwash you into believing that you are Trash and of no Value…

When You Realize that this is a Lie!

You will Immediately Want to give God Praise…

This Produces a Positive Outcome!

The Devil would like to sidetrack you into a relentless circle…

God Created a Human “Being” not

a Human “Doing”…

What you Do in Life is not as Important as “Being.”

Doing is an endless frustration, down a dead end street.

Whereas “Being” causes “Peace and Contentment.”

That Results in Becoming What God Created You to Be!

If You Are a (Human Doing) You will one day drop from exhaustion and depressed defeat.

But if you are a (Human Being) You will enjoy-

Peace and Contentment…

Remember, God Created You to “Be”

He Has a Plan for Your Life…

So Be It!
