(Familiar) Can Become a Prison and Fortress…

One Not Only of Our Own Making But One of Strong Desire!

Comfort Has a Way of Chaining Us Down!

Because Any Exertion to Change Requires Leaving the Comfort Zone

In This Scripture Text, (New Wine) Was Determined That

It Could Not Be Put Into (Old Bottles)…

That Meant a Change in the Bottle Too!

“New Wine Meant New Bottle”

Until You Taste the “New Wine”

Just like In Our Scripture Text Your Saying, “The Old is Better”

Don’t Let (Familiar) Trap You!

And Miss Out On the Unbelievable Changes That Come With the “New Wine”

It’s No Wonder Most of Pentecost No Longer

Requires a (Bottle Change)???

Because They’re Still Serving Old Wine…

Suffering in the Promise Land

Numbers 33:55 (KJV)

But if ye will not drive out the (inhabitants) of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, (that those which ye let remain) of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

Coming from Egypt to Receive the Promise Land was a Given from God!

But It Did Require Removing Alien Elements Contrary to God…

Or Else They Would Be-

Pricks in Your Eyes

Thorns in Your Sides

Vexing (constant torment)

When You Were “Born Again” You Literally Left (Egypt) and Came to the Promise Land (Spiritually)

But It’s Still Up to You to Remove All Things (Alien) to God…

Just a Thought….

Your Battles May Not Be With the Devil?

It May Be Because You Compromised and Left Some

(Inhabitants) Remain?

The Consequences of Lies

Proverbs 25:18 (KJV)

A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

Another Translation-

Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow.

A Lie May for the Moment Get You Off the (Hot-Seat)

Save you from Embarrassment or Excuse Your Behavior

But the (Damage) Can Be Devastating to Someone Else!

The Bible is so Very Grievous in Revealing the Consequences…

• Don’t Exaggerate

• Don’t Embellish

• Don’t Stretch

Who Cares if the Report Isn’t Alarming or as Exciting!

The (Truth) is Better than a thousand Untruths…

There Will Be (Consequences) of Lies…

And You Could Be the Reason for Pain!

Double Indemnity

Jeremiah 2:13

[13] For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

(Double Indemnity)

A Certain Cause, that Results in a Double Payment…

In this case God is Upset, Because Not Only Have You

Forsaken (Him)

Who is “(The) Fountain of Living Waters”

But on Top of That, as if That wasn’t Enough-

You Think to Substitute This (Abandonment)

By Making Your Own Vessels-

To Hold Water that are Broken and Leak

Double Indemnity- As if the First Error Wasn’t Bad Enough

Substitution Slaps God in the Face!

That’s Why…

Partial

Half-Way

Even 99%

Obedience Won’t Work!

Because One Abandonment Leads to Substitution That Won’t Hold Water… Anytime!

Obedience is not Choosing

Obedience is a Force of Nature…

Many Christians are Offering (Substitutions)

The Majors and the Minors

1 Corinthians 14:20

[20] Brethren, (be not children in understanding): howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

• Malice-Be as Children

• Understanding-Be as Men

Children are: Undeveloped and Immature

Men are: Fully Developed and Mature Adults

When it Comes to (Malice) We Should Be as “Children”

Under developed and Innocent…

Malice is Evil and in These Territories We Should be as

Children, not Knowing and not Experienced…

And Yet in (Understanding) We Should Be well Exercised and Mature!

Why Is It That Some People Appear to “Major” on (Malice) and “Minor” on (Understanding) and or good?

If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt (do touch) bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, (shall it be holy)?

And the priests answered and said, No.

INFLUANCE-

the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself:

Apparently the Power of (Holy) or Good Does Not Have the

(Influence) or Power to be Effectual by Nearness or Touch…

Whereas We Clearly Read in Scripture That (Negative) and (Bad or Evil) “INFLUENCES”

Everything it is Near and Touches-

Immediately Contaminates Whatever it Touches…

This being the Case-

Being Evil and or Even (Negative)

-Affects

-Infects

Everyone Near You…

Whereas (Good and Righteousness) is a Choice!

Not Changing Those Near-

“Only Setting an Example of What to Do”

and Most Importantly “Eliminating”

The Powerful Contamination of Evil

Near Our Loved Ones and Church!

Your Home or Church:

*Negative Judgmental and Critical Words

*Have a Greater Impact than Positive!

The (Influence) of Wrong is Far More Damaging-

Than the Example of Good Changing Those Near You…

Touch Evil and You’re Separated from God

Holiness and Godliness Must Be Digested to be Accepted by God…

Beware of “INFLUENCES”

They Could be Separating You from God…

And Damming Your Family and All Those Near You!

Influence to be a Better *Example

Resiliency

2 Corinthians 4:8

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Resiliency:   the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape;

Elasticity:   the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties

There was a Day when We were Breakable and Fragile

Sin does that to us…

Self-Destruction and Suicide Never Happens to Holy Ghost Filled People…

The Power of the Holy Ghost (Empowers) Us to Withstand all Attacks Without Breaking!

When  Bent Out of Shape, Pushed down, Beaten and Worried-

A Resilient Man Will Rise Again and in the End

Return to His Natural Shape!

Because the Holy Ghost-

• Never Leaves

• Never Abandons

And It Is Through (Him) That We are Strengthened!

Not of Ourselves, But Through Christ!
